Whiteout

Dramatic and constantly changing weather. Lots of monochrome mountains with shifting outlines, shrouded in clouds of snow and then brilliant blue skies. I decided to try and draw/paint every day this month. It been a really good thing to do, but has just made me realise how much more I need to practice the basics in different media as it takes a lot longer than I thought to get things to work. Its so hard to translate the enormity of what I'm seeing into small paintings and drawings. How simplified should I make it before it just becomes a few black dots on a white piece of paper?
